Rethink Afghanistan Screening

Veterans for Peace Santa Barbara hosted a special screening of the film Rethink Afghanistan on Monday, October 5th at 7 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building.  This excellent documentary, directed by Robert Greenwald, makes a strong case for US withdrawal from Afghanistan.  If you are interested in access to the DVD of this film, please contact Joy Robledo at (805) 963-1259, or visit the film’s website at www.rethinkafghanistan.com

Here are some notes from the video section of the film’s site rethinkafghanistan.com:

Rethink Afghanistan is a ground-breaking, full-length documentary focusing on the key issues surrounding this war. By releasing this film in parts online for free, we are able to stay on top of news of the war as it continues to unfold. We hope to raise critical questions regarding Afghanistan that Congress must address in oversight hearings, which inform the public and challenge policymakers. We strive for more discussion among experts on Afghanistan, like the debates seen below released in conjunction with our documentary campaign.

It’s great you are screening Rethinking Afghanistan; but I only got the message today, and am wondering if there will be another screening any time soon? If so, please let me know, and maybe offer advice regarding access to this important film. Thanks: H.L.

Hi Harry: So sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you. We have a new website, and are just now getting used to the new format.

Regarding another screening of Rethinking Afghanistan, I suggest that you look at the website http://www.rethinkafghanistan.com. They have information on screenings in your local area there.

I have given the dvd to Katrina, the pastry lady…she will bring it to AW to “pass it on” but don’t just let it get lost in the boxes.
