I sailed to Long Beach, a short hop, before the storms hit and have a nice slip near the beach….slip G 12. I’m right near the volleyball courts and an island with forms, colored lights and a lovely fountain. In the background is the Queen Mary and a Carnaval cruiser that dwarfs it.
I attended and marched in the Long Beach MLK day parade and was surprised that there were an abundance of motor vehicles in the parade. MLK said that there needed to be a “profound change in American life and policy” and I think he would understand the impact of global warming.
I continue to work for a shared partnership at VAMC WLA, which is easier to get to from Long Beach than San Pedro. as is Arlington West Santa Monica. I hope to attend Arlington West Santa Barbara on the first sunday in Feb. Its also an easier trip from Long Beach thanks to Metrolink and AMTRAK
