Bayard Stockton
Chapter 54 lost one of its most colorful members and guiding lights with the passing of Bayard Stockton, noted author, educator and radio commentator in Santa Barbara since 1981.
Bayard was our Media Relations member. His wit, wide-ranging knowledge and droll humor are warmly recalled by all of us. Bayard’s Thursday night Adult Education classes were attended by thousands through the years, and were renowned for their relevance to current events and for the quality of speakers he brought into the class.
Bayard cared deeply about the world and about people, giving unstintingly of himself to educate and share his insights and experiences in the furtherance of peace and understanding. He was unfailingly thoughtful, good-willed, and caring.
We miss you, Bayard.
