4th of July Parade
Once again VFP Santa Barbara Chapter 54 will be participating in the
annual 4th of July Parade down State Street, scheduled for Saturday
July 4. All members, friends and Arlington West volunteers are
invited to join our group. We will assemble near the starting point
of the parade at State Street and Micheltorena. If you can't find us,
ask at the check-in desk outside Cantwell's Market at State and
Arrellaga.
Please be there by 12 noon; the parade will begin at 1 pm sharp. Wear
Veterans For Peace shirts or jackets if you have them. No extra
signs, please. The parade ends at State and Cota Street. We'll see
you there!
Arlington West
Help out at Arlington West! Volunteers are needed and welcome to help
set up and take down the monthly memorial at the foot of Stearns Wharf
in Santa Barbara. Set up starts at 7:30 a.m. the 1st Sunday of the
month. Take down starts at 4:00 p.m. (daylight savings time) and at
3:00 p.m. (standard daylight time). Members are onsite all day long to
assist and work with you. Take part in this highly meaningful and
rewarding expression of our love for our country, our resistance to war
and our respect for those who serve and have served in uniform.
Please note that Arlington West does not set-up when rain is forecast.
